The Merry-go-round. 

I am always fascinated by it. It has a mystic, hallucinating appeal. 

It is as if time moves more slowly and gracefully. The motion is elegant and beautiful. The slow & steady circular motion, the Horse moving up and down in vertical motion. The people holding onto the metal rods attached to the top of the moving roof and riding on the horses. The smile of joy, the fear of losing grip…There is so much meaning and substance in this. 

Imagine the Merry-go-round as the entire universe with all its planets,  Imagine the Merry-go-round as Life itself. Each entity is holding onto the merry-go-round as it is moving in a circular fashion. There are ups and downs in Life as there is beginning and end of a Living entity. The circular motion stops and starts over again. The perpetual energy supplies the motion of Life.

Imagine each metal rod of the merry-go-round, to be the Supreme Almighty’s energy. We must hold on tight to the Supreme Almighty with trust and full faith then we shall we go over the ups and downs of Life’s motion smoothly. If we try to hold to the pillar half-hearted, the pace of Life, the pace of the circular motion might sway us in the wrong direction. You may lose your grip and you may fall off the merry-go-round. The speed is constant, the speed of Life is steady. We must not ask the operator to speed up the merry-go-round or artificially try to operate the controls of Life,  because it might affect everybody who is riding on it and eventually it will be of danger to the one who tried to change things for the worse.

The Merry-go-round teaches us faith in Life, Universe and the Almighty. Trust the speed, Trust the motion, Hold on to the Supreme Almighty & Life tightly until the Merry-go-round comes to a complete stop. Once it has stopped you have a choice. You have to choose between getting down from the Merry-go-round or going for another ride again. Once you have chosen to step down, you have to watch the merry-go-round and appreciate the beauty & motion of Life. Don’t get attracted to it again for a second turn. But if at all you have chosen to ride again, be absolutely sure that you hold on tight and enjoy. Don’t get lost by the illusion. The whole world might look different from the one who is watching and the one who is riding. The vision while riding the merry-go-round, the vision of the rider when it has stopped and the vision while watching it from outside is completely different. Since the merry-go-round appears different from each perspective, nothing is real…Life is not real. 

Life is not real. Its a massive illusion…not in the literary sense but in the sense that the description varies from different angles. Something is true if the appearance or description remains constant. Something is untrue if it has multiple explanations and descriptions. Take any object or form which you see, hear, feel, smell or taste. Its always different. People describe a single object or form differently in different places in different times. All Humans combined give only a fraction of the description. What about the description of the same object or form given by animals and non-living entities or multi-dimensional beings. We don’t know whether they can describe but again its an unknown. So a single form or object which is heard, seen, felt, smelled or tasted can be very different to different entities. So there is absolutely no truth from our limited senses. The Supreme Truth exists untouched by these descriptions. And to reach the Supreme truth, the REAL truth, we must be independent of the equation of Life (merry-go-round), Living Being (the rider) and Soul (the witness). We must come out of the equation and the only way to know the REAL truth is to BE the REAL truth. There is no other way. Every word, Every sight, Every description, Every feeling is UNTRUTH. Although some word, sight, description and feeling may point us in the right way to the REAL truth but nothing except the REAL truth is the REAL truth.

Coming back to the merry-go-round example….

Once you have stopped your desires, your petty activities, your sense enjoyment and are mentally detached of the illusion of Life & Once you know that nothing except the REAL truth is the REAL truth, then and then ONLY the merry-go-round ride will become uninterested and repetitive. This is Vairagya stage. Stage of Mental Detachment to everything. The motion of the merry-go-round, the sight, the smells of Life becomes dead to your senses and thinking.

Once it has become of no value to you then you decide to hold onto it patiently until it stops naturally.

Once it has stopped and when you are absolutely sure that you have experienced the fullness of Life (the merry-go-round), you decide to step down from it.

Once you have stepped down from it you decide to watch it and praise the movement of Life itself, Not as an enjoyer but as a witness. The Mystery of Life will be presented to you in its Grand Design. The Enlightenment of Life will awaken thus. But still you are awakened to the REAL truth.

Once you have had enough of the role of witness, you decide to search for the Supreme Ultimate, the Supreme Truth who has created this merry-go-round & its motion, the Supreme who supplies perpetual energy to it. 

Once you have decided to search for the Ultimate Truth, you have to forget the merry-go-round, the riders and the role of the witness to get merged with the Supreme.

Once you are merged, there is nothing else to experience, know or witness.

Such is the beauty of something as simple as a merry-go-round.

“Belief needs two,

Trust needs one,

Fact needs none”

When you believe in yourself (or) somebody, (or)

some event, right there you are split into two entities.

The Believer and the object to believe in.

Belief is weak because it can be broken anytime. 

There is always a “possibility” that you believe

or not believe.

Trust is the highest level of belief. Its a one time event.

When you trust yourself (or) somebody (or) some event,

there are no opposites.

Trust is unconditional belief. You can’t go back.

Either you trust (or) you not believe.

If you distrust then it does not become the opposite of trust,

it is dis-belief.

Please don’t tamper the word Trust.

Let is stand alone and Let it stand strong.

Say TRUST with a firm conviction and never go back.

You cannot go back.

If the Trust is true, then you cannot reverse,

whichever way you try.

Fact is the highest level of trust. Its a timeless entity.

Level is a wrong word for Trust.

Trust has no "levels".

Let me rephrase…

Fact is when you cross the boundaries of Trust. 

There is no one time event of Trust.

For a fact…There is no event at all.

Events are time bound.

For example, “The sun exists” is a fact.

You cannot trust or dis-believe this.

You are not aware when it started or when it will end.

Facts are timeless.

Even if you don’t exist it still stands true.

Fact needs none.

Fact is independent.

So Belief → Trust → Fact (in ascending order)

All these are concepts formed by the mind.

Imagine if the phenomenon called Human being

never existed, 

what would be the state of the universe?

Everything remains in suspended animation.

Universe still continues.

The three concepts above exist because the human mind

came into existence, and formed them, gave them words,

gave them meaning.

But all concepts vortex into the black-hole of

universal existence where all three dissolve.

This is the unnamed, pure, fourth state

where all concepts disintegrate & 

you cross the boundaries of concept formation.

When the formation of ideas, concepts, meaning

and interpretation end,

A new state beyond mind begins

where there is no return and no end.

Every single day we spend our lives winning, battling,

struggling and resisting.

We read books for motivation, we hear songs

to keep on trying, we attend courses where

they teach you to make more and more and more.

Why?

Because we never like to lose.

Every act we do is no longer a pleasure…no longer careful.

Every act has turned into a goal…

a single minded purpose to be fulfilled.

We move on to the next task

as quickly as we finish the earlier one.

Time has taken over our lives,

Money has taken over our our heart.

There is no compassion…

Even if you help somebody…

its a win for you on that purpose.

We have to win on every single action,

otherwise we are out of sync, 

otherwise we will be ignored, we will not be seen

or heard or spoken of…

We will never be appreciated.

This is the fear of losing.

Please…Lose for one day…completely.

Bring in the feeling of being lost.

Bring in the feeling of losing in every act.

Bring in the feeling of losing everything.

Just feel this and take a moment to watch your life,

your surroundings, the world, 

Pause…and look at the sky, your loved ones,

read books, breathe fully.

Please…Don’t make these as goals to complete or win.

Just do the above, without any strings attached.

Do it for one day, and you will feel a humbleness

encompassing you,

a feeling of innocence, hopelessness,

a greater appreciation to your life, 

a feeling of gratitude will begin to arise in you.

Try to lose, Don’t win.

Don’t compete…

Competition is for people who think they cannot win.

Lose yourself, Relax, Look up the sky,

Breathe in the fresh air, appreciate and rest.

You will feel energized the next day,

but maintain the balance of winning and losing.

Because Winning is not concrete, Losing is certain.

That’s what Life and Death is all about.
